For a client in Brussels we are looking for a Custom Application Team Lead

PROFILE

• You have a strong background in Application Development, particularly in Java-based applications, technologies and related frameworks
• You have the motivation and positive attitude to inspire and lead developers of both on and off site teams
• You are used to serving as Technical Owner or Application Architect for core technologies
• You actively participate in defining and driving technology strategy, providing proactive leadership through improvement recommendations using new or improved best practices
• You are a champion of high quality development standards
• You communicate to all levels of an organization with ease in English, both written and verbally
• You are naturally analytical, able to understand technology opportunities and risks to guide the team in the best direction
• You are an autonomous and circumspect decision maker

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Actively participate as a core member of the Architecture Review Board in steering our technology vision as it pertains to your core applications
• Orchestrate and motivate a team of on and offsite developers, ensuring cohesion and quality
• Serve as the core Technical Owner for several of our Applications, building an in-depth knowledge and ever-improving context for success
• Analyse and approve change requests for incidents, releases, service requests
• Conduct technical assessments and recommend quality design solutions
• Drive the team’s success in translating clear business requirements into clear technical solutions
• Lead and contribute to workshops, forums for expertise and working groups, instilling a culture of constant improvement
• Proactively drive maintenance to ensure availability, reliability, and quality across your applications
• Create and hold to quality training documentation and encourage a culture of knowledge sharing

REQUIREMENTS

1. Training
- Functional analysis
- Data modelling
- Knowledge of Project Management tools, Jira, MS Project, Microsoft Office
- Enterprise Architecture (desirable)
- Knowledge of cloud technologies
- Experience with containerization (Kubernetes, Docker)
- Knowledge of Oracle database (Exadata, SQL, PL/SQL)
- Java programming, J2EE,
- Proficient in web UI “React"
- Web applications development, including REST & SOAP web services

2. Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as Java developer
- Minimum 5 years in IT Functional analysis and design roles
- Minimum 5 years in Application Lead role
- Proven experience in applying designing and deploying Technology Solutions
- Experience in leading external development application delivery (desirable)
- Application lifecycle management, continuous integration (Jenkins, Github, Docker)

4. Skills
- IT Technical Expert
- Good understanding of logistics and eCommerce processes (desirable)
- Strong functional analysis skills
- Strong presentation and communication skills, present technical solution to non-technical audiences
- Customer awareness and focus
- Team leadership (formal and informal)
- Excellent spoken/written English
