Senior developer/technical analyst .net


The mission

  • Evolutionary and corrective maintenance of applications under the responsibility of the Telematics/Operational Control department, with production or debugging of documented, high-quality code, providing innovative solutions whenever the opportunity arises.
  • Understanding functional analyses and translating them into technical analyses.
  • Contributing to (improving) the technical architecture of these same applications. Respecting or challenging the application and established technical architectural concept.
  • Contributing to better software and industrial integration.
  • Carrying out and participating in various types of test sessions.
  • Providing technical support to direct colleagues, especially less experienced interns.
  • Providing ad-hoc support to other colleagues within the department, as well as to the Business teams.

The applications concerned are Metro-Gates (software integration and especially industrial integration), control tablets (software and industrial integration), offence management and planning applications (home-made) used by the field teams, the geolocation application for patrol vehicles (software integration), and continuous improvement as part of monitoring (various initiatives, home-made or integration).

A high level of expertise is expected.

General competences

  • At least 8 years' experience in application development (with integration) in the techniques mentioned.
  • At least 5 years' experience in technical analysis in a medium/large company.
  • Be familiar with the different types of development life cycles, including testing techniques and methods.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and synthesis skills.
  • Understand the functional and technical requirements of interfaces (data exchange, data type, exchange protocols, etc.) between applications.
  • Suggesting solid, innovative and sustainable solutions in line with the company's standards.
  • Respecting the application and established technical architectural concept and previously validated by the architects' committee, and daring to challenge it depending on the context.
  • Ensuring that documentation is structured, readable and complete, and documenting the code in a structured and precise manner, so that it is easy to understand for the various parties involved (business users and/or developers).
  • Guaranteeing the quality of deliverables.
  • Experience in public transport is not required but is an asset.

Technical competences

  • Knowledge/understanding of Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Queuing and web services.
  • Experience in : C#, Windows Services, ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, Microsoft Framework .Net 2.x, 4.x., HTML5, Angular, Javascript and good knowledge of analysis techniques. Knowledge of Python is a plus.
  • Experience in Micro-Pascal is desirable.
  • Understanding/knowledge of SOAP, REST, http and OPC protocols.
  • Knowledge/understanding of the Modbus protocol is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Good Database experience: Oracle 11g and above, PL/SQL, SQL Server.
  • Experience in Industrial Integration is a plus.
  • Tools - Experience in :
    • Visual Studio, from 2010 and more recent versions.
    • Jira, SVN

Language skills

  • Dutch, French: fluent in one, basic in the other
  • English: good
